KDOT Announces Online Survey Available for Route 92 Centennial Bridge Study

Following the completion of two public open houses this week, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) has now launched an online survey offered at the open houses to gather information from users on future options for replacement of the Route 92 Centennial Bridge. Currently the Route 92 Centennial Bridge Study is currently underway and its purpose is to examine options for constructing a four-lane replacement bridge spanning the Missouri River located between Leavenworth (Leavenworth County, Kansas) and Platte County, Missouri.

KDOT held a second round of public open houses on Tuesday, July 21 in Platte County, Missouri, and on Thursday, July 23 in Leavenworth, Kansas, to provide current updates on the study progress. At the open houses, attendees viewed display exhibits on the study updates and provided their input via a written survey. The open house display boards are available online at:

Before completing the online survey, users should first review the open house display boards at the link above and then complete the survey which is available online at: The survey will be open for public input through Monday, August 31, 2015.  Information gained through the survey will be reviewed by the study team. (Special note: The online survey is the same written survey that was offered to the public open house attendees for their input.)

While there are no funds available for constructing the four-lane replacement bridge, KDOT has identified a future need to replace the Centennial Bridge over the Missouri River. Through data collection, cost analysis and public input, the study team is examining the options for constructing a four-lane bridge replacement. This includes determining a preferred location, bridge type, associated costs, potential funding mechanisms and conducting a preliminary assessment of the potential environmental impact. The study process includes the preparation of an Advanced Preliminary Engineering (APE) Report, as well as a Tolling & Revenue Report.

This study is funded by T-WORKS, the transportation program passed by the Kansas Legislature in May 2010. Find out more about this study and other T-WORKS projects at:
