City partners with National League of Cities’ warranty program

Service Line Warranties of America provides optional insurance for residents

City of Leavenworth Public Information Office – Feb. 22, 2017

Residents may have received a notice in the mail for a new service available called a Service Line Warranty program for water and sewer lines. The Leavenworth City Commission opted to participate in a National League of Cities Service Line Warranty Program administered by Service Line Warranties of America (SLWA).

This program is offered at no cost to the City and no public funds are used to promote or administer the program.

Homeowners may choose to participate if they wish. The program is optional.

The cost for water and sewer line repairs can exceed thousands of dollars, for which homeowners are responsible when the water or sewer line is privately-owned.

The discounted cost for residents who choose to purchase the water line warranty protection is $5.75 per month, and the sewer line warranty protection is $7.75 per month. An in-home plumbing warranty is also available for $6.99 per month. The options cover line repairs up to $4,000, plus an additional allowance of $500 for public sidewalk cutting, if needed.

SLWA provides a 24-hour repair hotline for its customers and uses only local, certified technicians.

For questions about this service, or to enroll, please contact SLWA at 866-922-9006 or visit www.slwofa.com. Homeowners can also follow SLWA online for company news and homeowner tips at: www.slwablog.com,
