The City of Leavenworth’s Community Development division is accepting applications for Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funding from qualified nonprofit public service agencies within the City limits for the 2023-24 program year.

Funds are awarded to qualified agencies for reimbursement of rent or utilities at the agency location. Qualified agencies must be providing services to the community as defined by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development. Priority is given to agencies providing housing/homelessness, health/mental health services and substance abuse services.

Funding available is still being determined by the federal government. The City of Leavenworth is an entitlement City that receives CDBG funding directly from HUD. Last year, Leavenworth was able to fund $50,741 to local agencies for service efforts.

The application is available on the City’s website, www.leavenworthks.org , and can be obtained from the City’s Community Development Coordinator by emailing julie.mckeel@firstcity.org or calling 913-680-2628.

Applications are due February 10, 2023 by 3 p.m.
