Melissa Bower serves as the Public Information Officer for the City of Leavenworth. Bower has a journalism degree from the University of Kansas. She worked in newspapers as a reporter for 9 years prior to joining City staff in 2012. Her roles include managing communications and marketing for the City, including managing the City's social media accounts, serving as the City's website manager, designing the "First City Connection" newsletter and managing a print contract, videotaping public meetings and managing Channel 2, a government-access channel for cable subscribers in the City of Leavenworth.
