2022 Pavement Management

The City Commission authorized $2 million for the 2022 Pavement Management Program. It is funded by general obligation bonds and sales tax for the annual maintenance of public streets. Work is expected to begin in late summer and be completed by November.

The program includes- 

• Mill and overlay
• Parking lot upgrades
• Micro-surfacing
• Major repair and maintenance beyond the scope of the City of Leavenworth Streets Division.

These projects are in addition to the regular repair, patching and pothole repair that City of Leavenworth Streets Division staff conduct on a regular basis throughout the year. Local contractors have warned us that the high price in construction materials and significant worldwide inflation could affect some of the projects.

• Garland Street - dead end to Rees Street
• 7th Street - alley north of Dakota Street to Metropolitan Avenue
• Vilas Street - 15th Street to 10th Avenue
• Johnson Street - Fifth Street to Fourth Street
• 5th Street - downtown bridge near Oak Street to Shawnee Street
• Cherokee Street - Broadway Street to Fourth Street
• Leavenworth Library Parking Lot Improvements.

Micro-Surfacing

• Third Street - Ottawa Street to Cheyenne Street
• Fifth Street - Osage Street to Ottawa Street
• Seneca Street - Fourth Street to Second Street
• Miami Street  - 10th Street to Broadway
• Pennsylvania Street - 10th Avenue to 2nd Avenue
• Second Avenue - Vilas Street to Thornton Street
• 16th Street - Limit Street to Santa Fe Street
• Wallis Ln. - Crestview to 10th Avenue
• VA Park Road - Limit Street to hospital
• Franklin Street - Quincy Street to Randolph Street
• Michals Road - Clayton Drive to Tonganoxie Drive
• 20th Street - 19th Terrace to 600 south of Limit
