Roofing, Windows and Siding

The City of Leavenworth on May 1st, 2020 has adopted the 2018 International Code.

Windows/Doors & Siding

All Windows/Doors change outs require permits and inspections of the framing. This includes like for like sizes. 

Siding change out requires permits and inspection of final installation. 

Roofs

The City of Leavenworth requires any person or company who does not own the property and is performing roofing work in our city to be registered with the State of Kansas and provide their Kansas Roofing Registration to the Inspections Department. 

New Requirement for Roofs:

Ice and Water shield is required for complete tear off and re-roofs

Mid-phase inspection Ice and Water shield is being installed (before shingles). Mid-phase inspections are to be an on-site/in person inspections between normal business hours. Must have prior approval from Inspector if project is going to require a inspection outside of normal business hours. 

& Final inspections are required.

2 layers are still allowed for roofs
