Detached Strutures

The City of Leavenworth on May 1st, 2020 has adopted the 2018 International Code.

City of Leavenworth does not require a Business license or Contractors license for General Contractors 

Please see below for permit applications, email all permit applications to the Inspections Department at permits@firstcity.org

 

A detached structure is a structure that is not attached to the primary residents or building. Permits and inspections are required of these structures. Land Disturbance Permits may be required for any dirt work that is over 100 square feet, please contract us with any questions. 

 

Detached Structures include but not limited to:

Detached Garage

Shed(greater than 120 square feet)

Lean-to

Pergolas

Carports

Pole Barns

Miscellaneous Structures (greater than 120 square feet)

 

Inspection includes:

Footings that are required must be a minimum of 36" in depth and 12" in width

Framing

What is a site plan for a detached structure?

A site plan is a drawing that shows your property boundaries, the house, and other major structures, it also shows the set back distances between main structures and property lines to the detached structure. A simple plan only needs to be a sketch that includes these measurements.
